Michelle Sung Wie West, better known as just Michelle Wie, is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. At age 10, she became the youngest player to qualify for a USGA amateur championship. Michelle Wie West also became the youngest winner of the US Women’s Amateur Public Links and the youngest to qualify for an LPGA Tour event. She turned professional shortly before her 16th birthday in 2005, accompanied by an enormous amount of publicity and endorsements. She won her first and only major at the 2014 US Women’s Open, according to data of Femi Sports.
Michelle Wie West was born on October 11, 1989, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the United States. She began playing golf at the age of four. In 2000, at the age of ten, she became the youngest player ever to qualify for the US Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship. On June 22, she won her fourth LPGA Tour event and first major championship, the UU Women’s Open. The win, coupled with her second-place finish in the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship, resulted in her winning the inaugural Rolex Annika Major Award.
